There’s nothing we love more than what we call “the most sparkling time of the year.” This holiday season, we’re bringing you our latest obsessions, themed with festive flair. It’s a mix of goodies from books to stores to recipes and beyond; pure holiday fun that we hope brings you some holiday cheer. We wish you a shiny and bright New Year and look forward to bringing you more remarkable jewelry stories in 2016. –Emerald Carroll and Jenna Fain
Stoned by Aja Raden • What is rare is therefore precious – that’s the premise behind Aja Raden’s book Stoned: Jewelry, Obsession, and How Desire Shapes the World. Raden accounts how eight magnificent jewels shaped the course of history and explores our addiction to beauty and desire along the way. Though worth buying for the cover alone, I suggest you carve out the time to dive head first into the book, which is compelling from start to finish. Shop it here.
Bergdorf Goodman Jewelry Salon • The iconic uptown department store has recently unveiled its brand new jewelry salon just in time for the holidays. The stunning new space filled with gleaming cases of jewels is certainly one of the most glamorous jewelry destinations in NYC. Not to be missed when you stop by is BG’s collaboration with Gemfields, a leading supplier of ethically sourced gems. Tour the new salon with Linda Fargo here.
LOVE Magazine x Boucheron • Nothing like a cheeky advent calendar to count down to the most festive days of the year. To close out 2015, LOVE partnered with Parisian jewelry house Boucheron to showcase their most iconic collections on the likes of Kendall Jenner, Rita Ora, and Gigi Hadid (to name a few). Check out the videos through New Year’s Day here.
Alexander Wang Jewelry • I couldn’t help but be drawn to the chain-link jewelry adorning the models at Wang’s Spring/Summer 2016 show, and I’m thrilled the designer has finally released the first installment of his new jewelry collection. Produced in Italy and priced to sell, I’m sure these pieces will be flying out of stores, and I can’t wait to get my hands on all of it! Shop it here.
The Jewels of New York • This holiday, I can’t wait to tackle some of the recipes I’ve been looking forward to making from The Jewels of New York. First on my list is the Telltale Tart that I plan to adorn with a generous helping of pomegranate seeds, like a dusting of rubies. For a New Year’s Day treat, I may attempt the Matcha Green Tea Donuts. Who can resist that rich matcha green color matched with a sprinkling of gold ‘dragée’ (aka edible doughnut bling). Pick up their beautifully styled cookbook here.
On the Rocks Magazine • When it comes to print jewelry publications, nothing compares to London-based On the Rocks magazine. The bi-annual jewelry tome is impeccably curated and filled with stunning editorials. Be sure to pick up the newly released second issue – designer Julia Muggenburg of Belmacz adorns the latest cover. Find it here.
As if our current obsession with Étourdissant Cartier weren’t enough…we’re equally smitten with the new Cartier Diamonds campaign. In the brand’s latest mini-film, model and singer-songwriter Karen Elson lives out the ultimate holiday fantasy. The flame-haired beauty channels Marilyn Monroe in 1949’s Gentlemen Prefer Blondes while delivering a rousing rendition of “Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend.” It captures everything we love about the holidays – fun, glamour, glitz, rich reds – in a scintillating minute and a half. Enter this dazzling world here.
